JCC Welcomes New Youth, Teen and Camp Director

Kids' Konnection
Daily after school child care program for grades K-5.  The program provides a safe and nurturing environment with staff planned and supervised activities.  Arts & crafts, sports, Judaica, homework assistance and monthly themes are all part of the fun.

 

JCC Enrichment classes
Offers youth, ages five and up, the opportunity to participate in a wide range of after school classes such as soccer, basketball, art, dance, chess, swimming, etc.

 

School's Out
A full day childcare program for children in grades K-5.  The program offers daily field trips on days off from school.  Field trips include visits to the Toledo Zoo, C.O.S.I. Science Center, Camp Tamarack and a wide variety of other destinations.  The program runs from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

 

Kids' Night Out
A monthly Saturday night 3.5 hour party for elementary age children.  A wide range of activities are offered including sports, art, games, and special theme nights.  A pizza dinner, sundae bar and movie are also part of the evening.

 

JCC/BBYO Teen Connection
Teen Connection is a youth group designed especially for Jewish 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.  Co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Center of Washtenaw County and the national B’nai B’rith Youth Organization, Teen Connection offers a variety of social, cultural, recreational, athletic, and Judaic events for Jewish youth.  Each month Teen Connection participants have the opportunity to meet and interact with other Jewish youth while taking part in exciting programming and events.  Social outings such as skiing, bowling, and sporting events are offered each month.  Several times a year, opportunities to volunteer for communal services such as helping at Food Gatherers or other social outreach agencies rounds out the program.

 

The Outdoor Club
This program runs 3 weekend or longer "adventure" trips primarily for teens in grades 8-12.  Trips include canoeing, rafting, winter camping and skiing and backpacking trips.

 

JCC Camp Raanana
Camp Raanana is the JCC’s summer day camp for children entering kindergarten through eighth grade.  Camp Raanana is the perfect place for children to explore new interests, learn important skills, gain self-confidence, interact with other Jewish youth, and have fun!  Our camp is located on its own beautiful private beach front at Independence Lake County Park.  The facility includes a large covered pavilion, a swimming beach, playground structures, and access to ball fields, volleyball courts, nature trails, a spray zone, and more.  Our camp programming includes activity sessions (such as arts and crafts, nature, sports, music, and Judaica), instructional swim lessons, general swim time, weekly special events or field trips, and Friday afternoon Shabbat celebrations.  We provide round trip school bus transportation from the JCC to Independence Lake and also offer morning and afternoon extended care options. 

 

JCC Maccabi Sports Program
The JCC Maccabi Games provide an opportunity for Jewish youth to be part of a special Jewish experience, in which they meet and compete with Jewish athletes from across the country and around the world.  The Games are sponsored by the JCC Association of North America, Maccabi USA/Sports for Israel, Maccabi Canada, and Maccabi World Union.  The Games are open to all Jewish boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 16.
   

 

Echad BBYO
The JCC Youth/Teen Director acts as a community liaison and administrative resource for the Ann Arbor Chapter of the B’nai Brith Youth Organization.  The group is open to Jewish teens in 9-12th grades and provides social events, social service activities, and leadership training experiences throughout the year.
