The
Jewish Heritage Video Collection (JHVC) was created to explore the heritage of
American Jews through the unique resources of film and television. The
Collection provides courses and a video library that address vital issues of
Jewish history, identity, and culture. The JHVC video library contains
more than 200 film and television programs carefully chosen for both quality and
relevance. The Collection covers areas ranging from American Jewish
experience to religion and identity, and includes features and documentaries,
American and foreign productions. Many of the DVDs and tapes are not generally
available in video stores.
Through the generous support of Charles and Rita Gelman, the DVDs and tapes of the JHVC are available for rental from the JCC. This important collection is continuously maintained and updated by the Charles and Rita Gelman Educational Foundation.
The link below provides access to the catalog which lists the titles in the Collection, with a description of each one. Titles are arranged within seven categories. Additional materials for use as aids in the study and interpretation of the extensive library are also located on this site.
