Celebrate Israel Picnic and Walk for Israel

Sunday, May 18, 11:00am

Co-sponsored by Ann Arbor Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation

All adults, families, children and singles welcome

Walk for Israel - The Jewish Hikers of Michigan (JHOM) is announcing the third hike for 2014. The hike will take place in conjunction with the Celebrate Israel event at the Ann Arbor Federation/JCC building.

Hikers will receive a bottle of water and an Israeli flag. The group will be greeted upon arrival at the Federation/JCC building at the end of the walk.

JHOM hikes are designed to cultivate the love of nature, spirituality, social interaction and physical activities. They are targeted for anybody who loves nature, and who likes to meet new people.

Take part in the community walk for Israel, then join the Jewish Federation Celebrate Israel event for Israeli food (which will be available for purchase) and culture at the AA JCC. The hike will last approximately one hour, and is not physically demanding.

Hikers are welcome to attend the picnic portion of the day free of charge; if you want to participate in the Experience Israel Workshops, please register by going towww.jewishannarbor.org.

For extra activities (beyond picnic): $10 per household if you register before May 12, and $18 afterward if you register later.  This fee includes admission to the Experience Israel Workshops, which include Israeli Dancing, Israeli Cooking, Israeli Television, and Krav Maga. Hikers would be admitted to the picnic for free.
