Enrichment Classes

Infant and toddler class made possible by a grant from the Benard L. Maas Foundation.  

Babies and Me
This 45 minute class will include songs, tactile and exercise activities, a variety of games, stretching and massaging for the baby.  Bubbles and parachute activities will also be included.  Instructor: Yael Zoldan

Kindergym
Developmental floor exercise will help children become more proficient in social and gross motor
development.  Play with your child in the Monkey Room while helping them to develop skills.

Toddler Time
This parent/ child interactive program helps you take a new look at the world through new eyes:
your Toddler's.  Together, observe the world in wonder and joy as your child explores his/her surroundings. 
Children will play with manipulative and educational toys and engage in arts and crafts, music and rhythm and
supervised activities.  A visit to our Monkey room for climbing and crawling will be included in this class.  Instructor: Noreen DeYoung

Tot Shabbat
Parents and toddlers can come and celebrate Shabbat at the JCC.  We will sing songs, make Challah and have fun. 
Join us to help create Shabbat memories for your child.

Tumbling and Mat Activities
Come tumble with Kim!  Work on somersaults, hand stands, balance, rhythm, jumping and lots of other fun movement activities.  Instructor: Kim Braun

Ballet
The JCC dance program exposes young children to the basics of natural movement, dance and creative expression.  Our professional dance staff provide high-quality instruction within the familiar atmosphere of the JCC.  Instructor: Stephanie Kosarin

Yoga Kid
An excellent program to introduce your pre-school child to the benefits of yoga.  Classes include instruction on balance, breathing, stretching and exercise through imaginative play.  Instructor: Rachel Portnoy

Games, Games, Games
What time is it?  Game Time!  Children in this exciting class learn and participate in a variety of games including tag floor hockey, soccer, basketball, kick-ball and other group games.  Skills learned will encourage the development and coordination of large muscles and spatial relationships. Emphasis on fair play and FUN!  Instructor: Kim Braun

Cooking From Around the World
Children will have the opportunity to enjoy the great flavors of America's ethnic food heritage!  Children will prepare foods from many different countries and learn about the respective cultures.  Instructor: Yael Zoldan

Body Talk
Join us on our fantastic voyage as we cut, color, paste and have fun learning about the human body.  What makes our bodies move?  How do our bones work?  Instructor: Yael Zoldan

Sports, Sports, Sports
These classes will stress basic skills and rules necessary to play each sport.  These classes are designed to improve hand-eye coordination and teach the importance of teamwork and fair play.  Each sport will meet for 6 classes.  Cost for each session: $45cc, $55m, $69 nm.

Kindermusik Family Time
Music class for families with one or more children ages newborn and up.  In ten weeks, play instruments together, dance together, share, take turns, and see how music can bring you closer as a family.  A one-room schoolhouse approach to music.  With older children ready to show the little ones how it's done and the younger ones eager to learn, Family Time becomes a multi-layered learning environment.  Instructor: Debbie Gombert

Signing Smart
Ever wonder what your baby is thinking?  Through Signing Smart, a sign language program for hearing infants and toddlers, your child can express his/her needs and interests months before he/she can speak!  Parent-child play classes teach family-friendly American Sign Language (ASL) signs through engaging activities and songs.  Research-proven strategies help you sprinkle signs into everyday life, making signing easy, fun and successful!  Give your child the gift of powerful early communication and long-term learning- start Signing Smart!  Instructor: Kathy Brady

Gan Katan
The JCC and Hebrew Day School have joined together to offer a special afternoon Judaic and Hebrew enrichment program for children ages 4-6 years old.

Alef "Bet"Man
Children will explore Hebrew language and letters through songs, stories, games and activities.  Children will develop a basic Hebrew vocabulary in this playful introduction to Hebrew.

Mitzvah Magic
Through good deeds and acts of loving kindness, children will experience the magic of doing Mitzvot.  Children connect with the Ann Arbor Jewish Community through experiences with Hebrew Day School students, JCC Seniors and our youngest members of the JCC Early Childhood Center.  Field trips, Torah stories and volunteer opportunities will help the mitzvah magic come alive in everyone.
